ASL 3 Advanced — Kids (Ages 7–12) · 45-Week Course
$8 per class or $360 for all 45 classes
Give your ASL learner the space to tell bigger stories and hold real conversations. Across 45 live weekly meetings, children strengthen ASL grammar, classifiers, role shifting, signing space, directional verbs, detailed descriptions, fingerspelling, number fluency, and receptive understanding. They explore Deaf culture and visual communication as they compare ideas, solve picture mysteries, and build narratives.
Each 30-minute class opens with a visual warm-up and a quick review, then introduces a focused skill through clear teacher modeling. Learners practice in signed games, short voice-off exchanges, story retells, and partner or group conversations. The teacher offers encouraging, specific feedback on facial expression, clarity, pacing, use of space, and comprehension. Earlier skills return in new contexts so learners can use ASL more independently.
Outside work stays light: one or two optional signing assignments during the course. One or two supportive skill assessments help families see growth without creating weekly homework pressure.
What Your Learner Will Do
- Learners will sustain age-appropriate ASL conversations using follow-up questions, repair strategies, directional verbs, and consistent spatial references.
- Learners will understand increasingly fast signed messages and accurately retell key details, sequences, viewpoints, and transitions.
- Learners will create detailed narratives and presentations using classifiers, role shifting, nonmanual markers, and culturally appropriate visual communication.
Prerequisites: Learners should have completed ASL 2 or have equivalent skills: familiar vocabulary, fingerspelling, WH and yes/no questions, short conversations, basic facial grammar, and simple signed stories.
